Privacy Policy

Hello! If you’re reading this you clicked on my privacy policy to check out how I do things. Because of GDPR privacy laws I am required to share how I store personal information and make that accessible to you. Chances are that if you’re considering hiring me to photograph your wedding, or take some super awesome family photos for you, you live in the United States - and more likely than that the state of Michigan. But I’d rather be on the safe side, so here we go!

Personal Data I collect

When you send me a message through my contact form I collect your name, email address, event date, and information about the photography services you are looking for. When you email me directly, I collect and store your email address, and any other personal information you send me, in my inbox. This information is required for me to be able to contact you in regards to the photography services you are looking to hire for. If you book your wedding with me, you must fill out a contract that will require your name, address, email, phone number, event date, and information about your venues. This information is required for me to be able to contact you, and send you your wedding USB once I have finished your images. I do not sell or share your information.

How I collect and store your data

Once you email me your information arrives in my Gmail inbox. Google is committed to maintaining the privacy of its users. Most of our correspondence will be sent through this email. I am the only person with access to it, and do not send our emails to anyone else. I do keep all emails with my clients for my own records. If you would like me to delete your emails and information, you may request that I do so. However I would recommend waiting to do so until after we have finished working together so that we can still communicate. ;) Wedding contracts are stored in my home office and not shared with anyone other than my client(s) that the agreement is with and myself. My website may use cookies so please be aware of this if you choose to browse through my webpage. My website is also an HTTPS://, so all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted.

Blog commenting and communication

Comments made on my blog are public, which means anything you post is available for all to see. Please be aware of this when commenting, and do not post any personal information that you want kept private.

Right of confirmation, access, rectification and erasure

If you have questions about how your personal data is handled, you can just drop me an email and I will be happy to answer your questions. Any information that I have on you will be information that you have given me. I don’t search for other information about you, nor do I store any information that you have not provided me with anywhere. If the information I have on you is incorrect you may correct it. I do store emails even after your images have been delivered because many of my clients are repeat clients. If you want me to delete all of your personal data or correspondence from my inbox you may request I do so.

Use of your data

I use the information you provide me to contact you and to provide photography services you’ve requested only. I will not send you marketing emails or bother you for no reason. I will not share your personal information with anyone else. I will not sell your personal information. I may share your phone number with my second shooter on the day of your wedding, but only in the event that they may need to contact you. They will not share your information.

Use of your images

Your images are only used by me for display on my website, social media, and for marketing purposes. If a client purchases exclusive rights to their photos I will not share them on the internet. I store your images on a password protected laptop, desktop, and external hard drive. I also store some of your images with an online gallery provider that is GDPR compliant.

The bottom line

Our emails, personal information you send me, and contracts aren’t shared with anyone. I respect your privacy and won’t blast the internet with your personal information. I promise!
